Just a stone's throw from the beach in a quaint Sconset neighborhood, this five-bedroom, five-bath Nantucket home is a classic upside-down house, and its longtime owners were ready for a light refresh. Bathrooms, furnishings, paint, and lighting all got new life, while the home's timeless charm stayed fully intact.

Working within the home's existing floors and key architectural details, we gave the interior a bright, breezy feel by layering cool coastal blues with warm natural materials. White oak, rattan, linen, bronze, and a pair of vintage oars became the perfect complement to this coastal retreat.

The owners loved the home's original interior color, a cheerful sunny yellow, but wanted the primary suite to feel distinct. A warm gray backdrop let the bedroom stand apart without overshadowing that original hue, creating a cozy sanctuary within the home.

Custom side tables in the living room were built by ACK CNC Inc. using white oak, finished with a custom whitewash stain by Eastwood Trading Co. A custom-designed shoe cabinet, built and finished by JN Design & Build, keeps the mudroom neat and tidy for the whole family.

Artwork throughout includes specially selected pieces by T.S. Harris, Fran Gromley, and Lauren Marttila, along with a beautiful commissioned piece by Colin Berry.
